An elegant piece of early 20th-century English tableware from J. & G. Meakin of Hanley, Staffordshire.
This antique covered vegetable tureen features the Meakin “Sevres” pattern, combining deep blue-green floral decoration with soft gray-green patterned panels, small rust-orange blossoms, and hand-applied gold accents.
The shapely body rests on a raised scalloped foot and is finished with ornate double handles. A domed lid with a sculptural handle completes the piece. Floral transfers continue around both the lid and body, giving the tureen strong decorative appeal from every angle.
The underside carries the original “Sevres” J. & G. Meakin Hanley England backstamp, dating the piece to the early 1900s.
Use it as a centerpiece, serving piece, or decorative object on open shelving, a dining room cabinet, or layered vintage table.
