Founded in 1901 by Edward Muhleman, the Imperial Glass Company began production in Bellaire, Ohio, in 1904. Best known for its iconic Candlewick pattern and beautifully crafted tableware, Imperial became a household name in American glassmaking. After changing hands and eventually closing in 1984, the factory was demolished in 1995—but the artistry lives on, celebrated today at the National Imperial Glass Museum in Bellaire.
Imperial Glass introduced the Fashion pattern around 1908, offering both Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) and carnival glass styles. Its intricate design mimicked the brilliance of fine cut crystal, achieved through masterful pressed-glass techniques.
